Summer Diet Tips. Did you know that over 90% of the way your genes manifest, I’m not talking about the dungaree kind, the way your genes manifest is related to food? Think about that for a minute, over 90% of what is going to manifest from your genes is related to the food that you eat. Quite astonishing, isn’t it? Think about that? Think about that as you’re going and making your choices.
Hi, I’m Debbie Harris. I’m the co-owner of Maynestreet Weight Loss, and actually today I do want to talk about food. But I also want to talk about a particular season and that is Summer, and for many of us it’s the best time of year. In fact, uh, what was it Charles Barkley said the other night, summer vacation are his two favorite words.
Now, if you are trying to eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle and maybe even take off some excess weight, Summer can present some interesting challenges. Here’s a few of them and some tips. First of all, daylight, we love it. We love the fact that it’s light out until after eight, close to nine. But what does that mean?
For most of us, it means we’re eating dinner later, at least, most nights and that’s what our clients tell usat Maynestreet Weight Loss . They’re eating dinner later. What else happens in Summer? Barbecues, lots and lots of barbecues? So, that’s another one. And what else? How about some of those cold beers or a nice refreshing alcoholic drink as we’re sitting by the water or the mountains or a lake or wherever we might be?
So, let’s just do a few tips real quick. wWhen you’re going to those barbecues, forget the bread. Grab the hamburger, grab the hot dog, grab the green salad. Try and go minimal on all the coleslaw and the potato salad and the macaroni salad. All right, of course, on dessert stick with the fruit. You can enjoy barbecues but stick with those things. Make the best choice possible.
They’re passing around a cold beer, bring the 00 beer. Almost every company is making them now. They have zero alcohol. If you have to have a beer, have one of those. Sick with drinks that, that are pure. In other words, maybe just a little vodka and soda. Not all the mixy stuff with all this sugar and as far as eating late, listen, sometimes it is what it is. Skip breakfast till a little bit later in the morning.
Try and do a little bit of intermittent fasting, 12, 14, maybe even 16 hours, keep up with the water. Have your lemon water in the morning and there are some hints.
