Simple Detox Foods Part 2

Simple Detox Foods Part 2. Now last week we talked about some foods that are great for detox and I want to pick up where we left off last week because a lot of you put in comments and asked for more foods that can be considered for detoxing. I’m Debbie Harris, I’m the co-owner of Maynestreet Weight Loss on the Connecticut shoreline. Here’s a few more and I have a surprise for you so make sure you stay to the end of the video.

There’s beets, beets are another great one. You can steam them, you can boil them. They’re great coldin salad by the way, and if you go out and have salads, you probably noticed a lot of beet salads on the menu. There’s artichoke, artichoke is another great detox food. There’s kale. Now, I know kale is the thing these days and it isn’t for everyone. I like it sometimes. I’m not crazy about it.

One of the things I am crazy about that’s on the list is avocados. So go ahead and have avocado. Remember one thing with avocado though, don’t overdo it. It is high in fat, healthy fat but if you’re also on a goal to reduce, keep your avocado, maybe to two or three days a week. Well, here’s the surprise.

The surprise is, and some of you already know this, dark chocolate. It’s excellent for detoxing. But let’s understand what we’re talking about here. We’re talking about 70% of cocoa or more. So don’t go and get a Milky Way bar, don’t get milk chocolate at all. Remember, I said dark chocolate, not filled with caramel, not with a bunch of nuts and raisins. Have a square or two of dark chocolate. So if you like chocolate, add that to your menus, add that to your daily routine. But remember, we’re talking about just a little bit.
